General Warning Signs
Living independently is important to all of us, but as we age, our bodies may not function like they once did.
Because of that, performing even basic daily activities can become difficult and require some assistance.
And as the aging process continues, the need for assistance often increases as well.
In our first two episodes of this series, we discussed ADL and IADL as methods to help determine a person’s need for care.
In this, the third episode of the series, we discuss the five general warning signs that can tell us when it may be time for assisted living.
Some of the general warning signs that can help to determine a person’s ability to live independently include:
The presence of any of these warning signs can mean that some sort of daily supportive care is needed.
Tore’s Home strongly believes, and has experienced, that receiving assistance early, before the situation becomes urgent …
can postpone the need for facility care and therefore, allow people to stay in their own homes.
Tore’s Home (facilities) and Tore’s Home Services (home care) can help by providing most care levels. Care provided will often depend on a person’s financial condition and the type of local support that is available.
Tore’s Home Services include two major components:
This program is designed for clients who have some support by a family member living close to the person needing assistance.
This program is designed for people who do not have strong support locally and who want. Tore’s Home Services to become their “family”.
Tore’s Home (facilities) includes the following care levels:
But that’s only the beginning of what makes Tore’s Home different from other elder care facilities.
Unlike nursing homes and large impersonal facilities, Tore’s Home offers a distinct, family-like atmosphere.
Our homes are small, intimate, and secure. Located in quiet, residential neighborhoods, each home has only 6 to 12 residents.
Keeping our homes small allows our caregivers to provide residents with a more personalized, and customized level of care.
A more loving, personal and customized care in a small, family-like atmosphere … that’s what makes Tore’s Home different.
If you or a loved one needs help completing daily routines and activities, call Tore’s Home for a FREE, no obligation consultation.
We’re here to help make the aging process easier.
